---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
One of the proudest events of my mentor Josei Toda's youth was attending a lecture by the great physicist Albert Einstein (1879-1955), together with his mentor Soka Gakkai founding president Tsunesaburo Makiguchi. This took place in Tokyo in November 1922, and Mr. Toda, also an accomplished mathematician, was then a young teacher of 22. Einstein, he later reminisced, gave a brilliant lecture on the theory of relativity lasting some five hours with intermission. Mr. Toda often spoke of this memory to me when he was personally tutoring me at what I fondly call "Toda University."Both Mr. Makiguchi and Mr. Toda retained a passionate spirit of learning and intellectual self-improvement throughout their lives. The first two presidents of the Soka Gakkai are themselves wonderful examples for [everyone.]
--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Suffer what there is to suffer, enjoy what there is to enjoy. Regard both suffering and joy as facts of life, and continue chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, no matter what happens."(Happiness in This World - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol. 1, page 681)
