The Gakkai organization exists to help each member develop his or her individuality, not to tie them down or restrict them. Rather than thinking of the Soka Gakkai as an organization comprised of individuals, we should consider it as something that exists within the heart of each person. In other words, an awareness of being a Soka Gakkai member should give us courage and serve as a cornerstone of our personal conscience.
