Daily Guidance

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The renowned Dutch humanist Erasmus (1469-1536) said: 'The mind will bear good fruit if it is sown with good seeds, but if it is neglected it will be grown over with weeds that must shortly be pulled up.' Forgetting our spiritual growth and pursuing only empty pleasures marks the beginning of decline and degeneration. Spiritual stagnation leads to defeat.
"Enriching society with the spirit of Buddhist compassion, let us continue to reach out to others and forge new friendships."
--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Were Nichiren and I bound by a promise to be teacher and disciple from the beginningless past, or were we not? Was I sent as an envoy of Shakyamuni Buddha to assist him in his efforts to spread the teachings?"
(Reply to Sairen-bo - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 312)
